Michael Zost, O.D., FCOVD, FAAO
Dr. Michael Zost, has served as an Associate Professor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago since 1986 where he also received his doctorate of optometry degree. He then completed a residency in Rehabilitative Optometry at the Northport VA Medical Center in Northport, New York with emphasis on primary care, vision therapy, contact lenses and low vision.
Dr. Zost is a vision consultant to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where he examines and treats patients who experience disrupted or loss of vision due to an acquired brain injury. He has served as a chief clinical examiner of licensing for the National Board of Optometry for over ten years. Dr. Zost is also on the Advisory Council for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, for which he also volunteers his time performing low vision examinations for its students.
Dr. Zost’s specialties include contact lenses, vision therapy and rehabilitative optometry. He teaches courses, is a speaker and lecturer, and his investigative work has appeared in major optometric journals.
Dr. Zost has received additional distinction as a Fellow in the College of Vision Development and American Academy of Optometry.
